These terms are written in plain language. They are not legal advice.

By using Smartitude, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Smartitude turns course material you upload into study guides, flashcards and practice questions, and schedules your revision. It's free while we're building it. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you before anything changes, and you won't be charged without agreeing to it first.

Your material

• You own what you upload and everything made from it. We don't claim any rights to it.
• You give us permission to store and process your material only as needed to provide the service, including sending it to our AI provider.
• Only upload material you have the right to use. Lecture slides and textbooks usually belong to someone else — uploading them for your own revision is one thing, redistributing what comes back is another.

What the AI produces, and what it doesn't

Study guides, flashcards, practice questions and papers are generated by AI from the material you give it. It is told to work only from your material and not to add outside facts, but it can still misread a page, miss something, or state a point more confidently than your source did.

Check it against your own notes before you rely on it. This is a revision aid, not a source of truth, and it is emphatically not a substitute for professional, medical, legal or academic advice. If something it produced contradicts your course, your course is right.

Doing your own work

Smartitude is built to help you learn your material, not to produce work you hand in. What counts as acceptable help is set by your institution, not by us, and it's your responsibility to stay inside their rules.

Fair use

• Each account can make study material from up to 60 documents in any 30 days. Get in touch if you need more.
• Don't try to break the service, get around its limits, access other people's accounts, or use it to process anything illegal.
• We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.

Availability

We work to keep Smartitude running, but it's provided as is, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Don't let it be the only copy of anything — keep your original notes, and export your flashcards if they matter to you.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outcomes that follow from relying on AI-generated study material.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the menu in the app. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top, and tell you in advance about significant changes.
